This article will cover creating the Time Add On Fee for a Musco Lighting Integration. You can choose to allow users to Manually Specify Time or set an Applies After/Before Time.
Checking Manually Specify Time is the recommended option. This allows internal and public users to be able to set the From/To time for the lights on the checkout screen.
Manually Specify Time + Control-Link Sunset Functionality
If the Sunset feature in Musco Control-Link is turned on, the sunset time for the reservation date will override the schedule selected by the user in CivicRec. This could cause users to be charged for time the lights won't actually be on if they aren't aware of when the sunset is that time of year.
For example: If the user selects 5:30 p.m. as the start time for the lights but the sunset is not until 6:30 p.m., the lights will not turn on until the sunset time in Control-Link.
If you choose to use the Applies After/Before Time fields, this will set start and end times for the lights that apply to all reservations and cannot be changed by users when reserving a facility. Before and After timeframes are restrictions and provide limitations to a reservation. So, if the before time is set to 7 p.m. then the addon will only apply until 7 p.m., even if the rental goes from 6 to 8 p.m.
This option will also require staff to adjust the after/before time of the add on for seasonal changes such as daylight savings time.
Applies After/Before Time + Control-Link Sunset Functionality
If the Sunset feature in Musco Control-Link is turned on, the sunset time on the day of the reservation will override the schedule set on the Time Add On Fee in CivicRec. Staff will need to go in and adjust the add-on to be as close to the sunset time as possible to avoid users being charged for time the lights won't be on.
