Authorize.net is one of the payment gateways supported by CivicPlus Pay. Provided below is information about the available features and how CivicPlus Pay and Authorize.net work with CivicRec.

Cards on File
Follow the instructions to Add a Card on File to a CivicRec account. The Authorize.net form has two options - Credit Card or Bank Account.
Important Note: If you have more than one account set up with Authorize.net and these are completely separate, you will not be able to process cards on file without running into issues. View more information about Authorize.net and CivicRec Cards on File.
Note: If you do not see Bank Account and you would like the ability to process ACH, please contact Authorize.Net Support and ask them to turn it on for your account.
Important Note
- To increase security, CivicPlus has added managed challenges (CAPTCHA) to CivicPlus Pay. Before reaching the hosted payment form, users may see a security screen like the one below:
Checkout Process - Internal
- On the Payment screen, select the Credit/Debit option
- If the account has a Card on File, you can select a Saved Card
- Click Add Credit/Debit Payment
- Select Complete Transaction
- On the Payment screen, select the Credit/Debit option
- Review the Amount and click Continue to Payment
- Save Card: This option will be selected by default, uncheck if you do not wish to save the payment method for future use.
- Overpayment: Select if the Amount listed is higher than the Total Charges.
- Save Card: This option will be selected by default, uncheck if you do not wish to save the payment method for future use.
- Before reaching the hosted payment form, you may see a security screen like the one below:
- Fill out the fields for a Credit Card or Bank Account
- Click Submit Payment
- On the Payment screen, select the Credit/Debit option
- Review the Amount and click Continue to Payment
- Overpayment: Select if the Amount listed is higher than the Total Charges.
- Overpayment: Select if the Amount listed is higher than the Total Charges.

Checkout Process - Public
The instructions below show the process for checking out with a card on file in the public catalog.
- On the Payment screen, select a Saved Card from the drop-down
- Click Submit Payment
- Review charges and select Complete Transaction
- On the Payment screen, review the charges and select Continue to Payment
- Save Card: This option will be selected by default, uncheck if you do not wish to save the payment method for future use.
- Before reaching the hosted payment form, you may see a security screen like the one below
- Fill out the fields for a Credit Card or Bank Account
- Click Submit Payment
Checkout Process - Public Mobile View
The instructions below show the process for checking out with a card on file on the mobile public catalog.
- Click Checkout in the cart
- On the Payment screen, select a Saved Card from the list and click Review Transaction
- Review charges and select Complete Transaction
- Click Checkout in the cart
- On the Payment screen, select Continue to Payment
- Save Card: This option will be selected by default, uncheck if you do not wish to save the payment method for future use.

- Fill out the payment details
- Click Submit Payment
Setup Steps
- Set up a Blended Account with BankCard USA customer services
- Order your BBPOS Chipper 2X hardware if using EMV from your BankCard USA Rep. For more information about the hardware, please review the Gateway Hardware Overview.
- Gather your Authorize.net credentials and submit them to your Project Manager/Implementation Consultant
- Read through the articles in the Authorize.net section of the CivicPlus Platform Help Center.
- Set up your hardware when it arrives following the steps in the Authorize.net EMV article (If not using EMV devices, skip this step)
- Turn off Test Mode on the Authorize.net account
- Run a test transaction
- Finish configuring your Authorize.net account
