This article will show you various test scenarios on Return Email fields in the Facility Setup vs. the Receipt Template to clarify which fields are utilized when.
Scenarios
- Scenario 1: If there is an email address included at the location level, all replies will return to that address - regardless of what is listed in the return email field on the receipt template.
- Scenario 2: If there is not an email address included at the location level, all replies will return to the email listed in the return field on the receipt template.
How To Test
Scenario 1
- Enter a test email as the Return Email in your receipt template
- Process a transaction with that template tied to the location
- Email yourself the receipt
- Reply to the receipt email
- Note: The return email that you populate in the To box should match the email address at the location.
Scenario 2
- Remove the email address from the Location
- Enter a test email as the Return Email in your receipt template
- Process a transaction with that template tied to the location
- Email yourself the receipt
- Reply to the receipt email
- Note: The return email that populated in the To box should match the email as the return address on the receipt template.
