This article will show you how to ensure that the printer sends a cash drawer kick command.
Instructions
- Open Printers and Scanners; in Windows XP, select Start
- Select Run
- Search control printers
- Press Enter
- Configure your printer:
- In Windows Vista or Windows 7, select Start, search control printers, and press Enter
- In Windows XP or Windows Vista, right-click your printer, select Properties, then select Printing Preferences
- In Windows 7, right-click your printer, select Printer Properties, then select Printing Preferences
- In Windows 7, right-click your printer, select Printer Properties, then select Printing Preferences
- Select the Document Settings tab
- Select Cash Drawer; set both cash drawers to open before printing
- Select OK
- Select the General tab
- Select Print Test Page
- Your cash drawer should open upon printing; if it does not, you may need to troubleshoot cash drawer connectivity

This article for supposedly being update 5 month ago is profoundly out of date. All of the Microsoft operating systems listed are not supported and have been removed from use. You'll really need to update this to cover current OS's e.g. Windows 10 and Windows 11.
