Cash Drawer Command Setup for Windows


This article will show you how to ensure that the printer sends a cash drawer kick command.


  1. Open Printers and Scanners; in Windows XP, select Start
  2. Select Run
  3. Search control printers
  4. Press Enter
  5. Configure your printer:
    • In Windows Vista or Windows 7, select Start, search control printers, and press Enter
    • In Windows XP or Windows Vista, right-click your printer, select Properties, then select Printing Preferences
      • In Windows 7, right-click your printer, select Printer Properties, then select Printing Preferences
  6. Select the Document Settings tab
  7. Select Cash Drawer; set both cash drawers to open before printing
  8. Select OK
  9. Select the General tab
  10. Select Print Test Page
  11. Your cash drawer should open upon printing; if it does not, you may need to troubleshoot cash drawer connectivity
