This article will show you how to integrate your CivicRec calendar with a CivicEngage Central calendar. This process consists of three main steps:
- Generate the CivicRec Calendar Feed Link
- Create the Calendar Module Category in CivicEngage Central
- Display the Calendar Feed on a CivicEngage Central Page
Important Note
- CivicPlus' Integration Hub can also be used to sync your CivicRec calendar with CivicEngage Central. CivicPlus Organizations have an Integration Hub instance. If you are unsure if you have access to Integration Hub, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager or Support.
Instructions
Step 1: Generate the CivicRec Calendar Feed Link
- Navigate to Facilities > Calendar
- Filter by Locations and/or Programs
- Check the boxes that correspond with the facilities, categories, and/or activities that you wish to display in CivicEngage
- Click Refresh
- Click Export > Create Feed
- Note: Do not choose Export Current View.
- Copy the Feed URL
Step 2: Create the Calendar Module Category in CivicEngage Central
- On your CivicEngage Central site, navigate to Modules > Content > Calendar
- Select Add Calendar
- Enter a Calendar Title and Description
- Paste the CivicRec Feed URL in the iCalendar Feed field
- Click Save and Publish
- Note: The events from the iCalendar Feed will not show in the back end of CivicEngage Central, however, they will display on the front end.
- Note: You can also add new events to the same CivicEngage Central calendar that has the iCalendar feed. The calendar will display both the events it pulls from CivicRec as well as the new events created in CivicEngage Central.
Step 3: Display the Calendar Feed on a CivicEngage Central Page
- Add a Calendar Widget to your desired page
- Note: Ensure that you select the category you just created in the Widget options.
- Note: Ensure that you select the category you just created in the Widget options.
- View the calendar feed
- Note: The event title will pull the following information from CivicRec: The date and time of the event, the names of the activity and session, and the names of the facility and location for the rental.

Is there anyway to customize the way the calendars are viewed online by patrons. As in what info is share with them and how it looks?
Hi Tim,
Once you have added the calendar feed to CivicEngage, you can set the design and permissions of the calendar category and configure how the calendar widget displays on the CivicEngage site.
Thanks!
Clara,
Is there anywhere I can control what info is put into the calendar, see below picture. If is just want it to say 5:00-9:00 PM Rental, is that possible.
Hi Tim,
The calendar will bring over the information that is entered into the activity/session, facility/location, and the time of the event in CivicRec.
Clara,
Similar question to the above. I need the Calendar Feed to display the details for the rental. i.e.
12:00 PM Rental Pavilion 1 (Barnes Park) 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM Jones Family
not
12:00 PM Rental Pavilion 1 (Barnes Park) 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM Rental
How would I be able to accomplish this?
Hi Harrison,
The event title will always pull the following information from CivicRec when using the feed URL: The date and time of the event, the names of the activity and session, and the names of the facility and location for the rental.
If your organization has access to CivicPlus' Integration Hub, you can use the calendar integration to customize which fields are brought over from CivicRec. Your Client Success Manager or Support will be able to assist you with access to Integration Hub.
