Create an Early Bird/Early Registration Discount

Early Registration Discounts allow participants to register early for a discounted rate. 

  

 

Instructions 

  1. Navigate to Configuration > Financial Settings > Discounts
    Navigate to Discounts
  2. Click + Create Discount

  3. Set the Discount Type as Early Registration Discount and fill out the form  
    Fill out Discount Form
    • Discount Name: Title of the discount 
    • Discount Type: Select Early Registration Discount 
    • Default GL code: Select the code to populate on the General Ledger 
  4. Select Save New Discount 
    Click save new discount
  5. Navigate to the Activities List

  6. Navigate to the Session you would like to assign the Late Registration Add-on Fee to and click the edit pencil

  7. On the Basics Tab, set the Registration Start Date to the beginning of Early Registration

  8. Navigate to the Pricing Tab

  9. Select Add Discount
    Add discount to pricing tab
  10. Select your Early Registration Discount in the drop-down. 
    select early bird discount
  11. Fill in the day and time you want Early Registration to end
    discount end date
  12. Click Save Session 
    Save Session

    Apparently, the early bird discount will show up as part of the catalog price. This functionality is different from all other discounts that only show up once a user adds the item to their cart. It would be helpful to add this behavior to the help article so that users implementing this discount will know that this is expected and not a bug.
