Add New General Ledger (GL) Account

This article will show you how to add a new General Ledger (GL) Account to your site. There are three types of General Ledger (GL) accounts that can be created: Asset, Revenue, and Liability. Learn more about the GL Types. 

 

 

Instructions

  1. Navigate to Configuration > Financial Settings > GL Configurations

  2. Navigate to Chart of Accounts
    chart of accounts
  3. Click Add New GL Account

  4. Fill in fields
    gl account fields
    • Code: Label your GL Code (100 characters or less)
    • Desc: Provide a brief description (100 characters or less)
    • Type: Specify if it will be a Revenue, Liability, or Asset account
    • Locations: Select locations to apply the GL Code to
      • Note: Leave unchecked unless you use location-specific codes.
  5. Select Save
